Brian and Melanie begin to test plastics, after a brief review of what's in the box of samples. A typical find of plastics and marine life, as collected in the plankton net which was regularly dragged from the side of the Kaisei, back in August, in the Pacific gyre. The box of samples gathered from the Pacific gyre - it had a ripeness that can only be described as "marine like" and very strong. A machine which uses near infra-red, to measure/indicate what types of plastic are in the samples we test. A machine which uses medium infra-red, to measure/indicate what types of plastic are in the samples we test.
